Functional Requirement


New Era needs to upgrade the BI Environment from existing BO 3.1 Edge to BOBJ 4.0 to leverage the new features & enhance system performance. Hence this project is designed to migrate the reports into new environment.

Solution Summary


Reports need to be migrated from BO 3.1 Edge to BI 4.0 Environment by using Upgradation Management Tool(UMT) and then validated according to test plan below:

Solution Details


For Migrating the reports from BO 3.1 to BI 4.0, the following steps need to be followed:
Step 1: Necessary transports have to be imported into corresponding SAP Systems to support integration with BI 4.0.
Step 2: Upgradation Management Tool(UMT) has to be used to copy reports from BO 3.1 Server to BI 4.0 Development Server.
Step 3: All the reports in BI 4.0 Developement Server have to be scheduled and validated against corresponding old instances in BO 3.1.
Step 4: Once the reports are validated, Life Cycle Manager(LCM) will be used to migrate reports from BI Development to BI Production.
Step 5: Finally all the reports in BI Production need to be scheduled & validated. Any issues also need to be fixed.
Step 6: Business Users & End Users need to be educated on the new environment and appropriate support should be provided.
